My Lovely Experience of a Grand Christmas in Shillong

Some places don’t just welcome you—they embrace you. Shillong did exactly that during Christmas, turning my visit into one of the most joyful and heart-warming experiences I’ve had in a long time.


Christmas in Shillong feels alive. The air itself carries celebration—cool, crisp, and filled with laughter, music, and glowing lights. Everywhere I looked, there was a sense of togetherness that felt genuine and effortless.


One of the most beautiful moments of my trip was visiting the church. Stepping inside, surrounded by prayers, hymns, and softly glowing candles, I felt an unexpected calm settle within me. It wasn’t just about religion—it was about faith, hope, and a collective gratitude that filled the space. That quiet moment stayed with me long after I stepped out.


The celebration continued with a lovely Christmas dinner, warm food and warm conversations making the evening feel complete. There’s something special about sharing a festive meal in a place where people truly know how to celebrate life.


Later, I roamed around Police Bazaar and Laitumkhrah, both buzzing with energy. The streets were alive with Christmas lights, music spilling from every corner, and people smiling like they had nowhere else to be but right there, in that moment. It felt safe, vibrant, and full of joy.


And then came my favorite part—dancing with the crowd. No introductions, no inhibitions. Just strangers moving together, laughing, celebrating Christmas as one big family. The song , the tune “La la la la la la la” I still can’t get it out if my system. It was pure happiness—the kind that reminds you how simple joy can be when you allow yourself to be present.


That night, Shillong didn’t feel like a tourist destination. It felt like home. A place where celebration wasn’t loud for show, but heartfelt and shared.


This Christmas gave me memories I’ll carry for a long time—of music, faith, warmth, dancing streets, and a city that knows how to celebrate not just a festival, but life itself.


Shillong, you truly made my Christmas grand, beautiful, and unforgettable. 🎄✨

50 Hours Long Train Journey

  Just this month I took my longest train journey ever. 50 hours in total. The journey was supposed to be 38 hours long but an extra 12 hours were added thanks to delay caused by Indian Railways. I tried to make most of this 50 hours sleeping, watching series , eating and overthinking. Only saving grace was coupe providing me with privacy. I got to see some beautiful sceneries on my way. But over all , it was a very long journey but definitely worth experiencing once in life.
